Student boosts career hopes with five star placement

Our programme provides undergraduates with many opportunities to gain valuable work experience before they embark on their careers.

Kate Baranova (back row, third right) is currently undertaking a one year placement at the stunning St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi as a Front Office Intern.

She commented: "Learning about the local culture, our hotel values and standards during training in a dynamic, fast-paced Front Office environment is challenging but very rewarding.

"The hotel provides cross-training opportunities in other departments, like Concierge and the St Regis signature Butler service. This has helped me understand the way hotel operates on a larger scale and helped my learning process.

"Another fantastic initiative started up by the hotel is to offer every associate a Guest Experience night at the hotel, for us to give constructive feedback on the service from personal experience and strive to improve it.

"I feel very fortunate to have this placement opportunity in a luxury hotel of such quality, as the skills I’m acquiring will no doubt be invaluable for my future career in Tourism and Hospitality."
