As part of ongoing studies by UCLan's Institute of Transport and Tourism, Dr Weston travelled to the University of Girona for discussions about the economic impact of cycling within the tourism industry.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Dr Weston to take part in a roundtable talk at the Girona Bike World Fair held at the city's Exhibition Centre.
Dr Weston has collaborated on several projects in this area of research, including the EuroVelo cycle route network which identifies the challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism.
